Legislators Indicate Bankruptcy Legislation Meetings Will Move Forward

House and Senate bankruptcy reform conferees' aides will keep meeting this week to try to fulfill the conference leaders directions to devise a "joint" legislative proposal upon the members' return from their Thanksgiving break, according to CongressDaily.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy's (D-Vt.) office stated that discussions on the legislation were ongoing yesterday, in both the House and Senate. James Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), the chair of the bankruptcy conference, said previously that he would like to see the measure completed this year.
